Hairdressings

These images propose a selection of hairstyles coming back to different periods of Roman history, as the hairstyle adopted by the women of the family of Augustus, characterized by a nodus (knot) on the forehead, the insertion of false curls in the Flavian age, the Greek hairstyles in the Hadrianic age, and those of Severan age, when Iulia Domna inaugurates the fashion of the wig with thick curls and a centre parting. Clicking on the images it is possible to see the different shots showing the back and the profile of the heads.
